The current executive is seeking club members to volunteer for Executive Committee positions that will be open for the 2018 season.

The executive is made up of elected or acclaimed volunteers who serve a two-year term. They plan, coordinate or manage the various activities of the club. The cycling season runs from April to October. Our fiscal year runs from January 1st through to December 31st. Elections occur at the Annual General Meeting held in the fall.

ELECTION OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE All members in good standing with the Club may apply for one of the positions available on the Executive Committee by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. within fifteen (15) days of receiving a position vacancy notice.

Members of the Executive Committee are elected for a mandate of two (2) years in any given function. At the end of their mandate, all Executive Committee members may apply to serve for an additional year or for another mandate of two (2) years.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Committee is responsible for planning and managing the activities of the Club in support of its mission. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to:

REMUNERATION: The members of the Executive Committee act as volunteers and are not remunerated for their services.

Below is the list of executive positions that need to be filled.

  1. President: a. Presides as managing director of the Club, liaising directly with the Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. b. Oversees all operations and decision-making processes. c. Chairs all Executive Committee and member meetings. d. Is the second signatory, after the treasurer (first signatory), for all financial transactions. e. Performs any additional exceptional duties as assigned by the Executive Committee.
  2. Vice President: a. In the absence of the President and under the authority of the Executive Committee, performs all the functions of the President. b. Is the second signatory in the absence of the President c. Exercises any additional powers as assigned by the Executive Committee. d. Helps with any additional exceptional tasks as assigned by the Executive Committee
  3. Secretary: a. Updates, retains and obtains all documents required by the Executive Committee and volunteer managers (group leaders, social event organizers, trainers) as well as all documents deemed pertinent by the Executive Committee. b. Helps the President prepare for Executive Committee meetings. c. Exercises any additional powers as assigned by the Executive Committee. d. Helps with any additional exceptional tasks as assigned by the Executive Committee.
  4. Communications Director: a. Is responsible for the internal and external communications of the Club. b. Helps with any additional exceptional tasks as assigned by the Executive Committee.
  5. Membership Director: a. Is responsible for the member enrolment process and follow-up. b. Helps with any additional exceptional tasks as assigned by the Executive Committee.
  6. Member at Large: An ombudsman for the club who represents all groups or categories of riders

All members in good standing with the Club may apply for one of the positions available on the Executive Committee by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. Candidates are elected during a vote among members attending the Annual General Meeting according to the rule of 50% + 1. The Annual General Meeting is held in the fall. Each voting member represents one (1) vote. Should just one application be received for any given position, the applicant is elected by acclamation.

Nominations will start August 28 and will be open for 15 days. An email notice will be sent with further instructions.
