About the Club

Rotation in a paceline

Welcome to the Club Cycliste Beaconsfield (CCB)! We organize several recreational cycling group rides per week where members head out in speed groups of 4-12 riders and ride in a paceline on courses ranging from 50 km to 100+ km in length. We accept riders of all levels of group riding experience and try to emphasize fun, safety, camaraderie and performance.

A road bike

  • A road bike in good working order
    • City bikes, hybrids, mountain bikes, fenders, pannier racks, and gravel-specific tires are not recommended for our road rides. You will likely struggle to keep up
    • For gravel rides, we recommend a gravel or road bike fitted with wider tires (minimum 28 mm, 32 mm or wider preferred)
    • Triathlon / time-trial bikes, aerobars, bullhorn handlebars, recumbents, full disc wheels, tandems, and kickstands are not permitted for safety in the paceline
    • Road e-bikes with pedal assist (not throttle mode) are permitted in our slower speed groups (20 to 26 km/h)
  • All riders must wear a helmet
  • You are responsible for being self-sufficient including carrying your own food, hydration, flat repair kit, and course map
  • You should have a level of fitness such that you can complete a solo 40 km ride in two hours or less
  • All new members (and returning members who have been away for more than two years) must complete a new members' clinic. Several clinics are offered at the beginning of the season in late April and early May, and then one in early June. These clinics are only open to registered members who have paid their annual fee. (See registration form below)
  • The minimum age is 18 years or older
